Steps is designed to show your step count and walking-goal progress without collecting your personal data.
Health data
With your permission, Steps reads step-count data from Apple HealthKit to show today’s total, goal progress, and local history. Steps does not write data to HealthKit. Health data is processed on your device and is not transmitted to the developer, advertisers, analytics services, or other third parties.
Data storage
Your settings, goal history, completion history, and the small snapshot used by the Steps widget are stored locally on your device. Steps does not provide an account or cloud-sync service. The widget snapshot is shared only between the Steps app and its WidgetKit extension through the app’s private App Group.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Steps schedules local notifications on your device. Steps does not use a server to send remote push notifications.
Collection, tracking, and advertising
Steps does not collect personal data, use analytics or advertising SDKs, track you across apps or websites, or sell data. Version 1.0 has no third-party SDKs.
Your choices
You can change Health access in the Health app or iOS Settings, change notification permission in iOS Settings, and remove locally stored app data by deleting Steps from your device.
Children
Steps does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date will be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the App Store listing or an app update as appropriate.
